Tech Transfer from Space to Sport and Back

Introduzione

Space is the most complicated place to do sports due to the absence of gravity and the modified physiological conditions but it is also the place where it is most necessary to keep fit in order not to lose muscle tone and promote the correct functioning of the organs. Equipment for physical exercise, nutrition designed for high-level psycho-physical performance, wearable sensors for monitoring vital functions, technical fabrics or intelligent multilayers, non-woven fabrics to promote blood circulation and much more are some of the cross-contamination applications. Mens sana in corpore sano is valid also in Space and might generate new business opportunities and innovations in terrestrial and in-orbit context.
