This was the central theme of the event “Advancing Digital Skills: Empowering Citizens, Enhancing Territories”, organized by Agenda Digitale Veneto and Veneto Innovazione Desk in Brussels as part of its ongoing commitment to digital inclusion and territorial development.Held in the heart of Europe, the event brought together European policymakers, regional representatives, and digital innovation experts to reflect on how to ensure that the digital transition leaves no one behind. The first part of the program offered insights into the strategic vision of the European Commission. Maria Rosaria Coduti, from DG CNECT, outlined the EU’s priorities in promoting digital innovation in culture and education, stressing the need for inclusive access and lifelong learning pathways.Following this, Clara Beltran Sanz, ESCO Content Coordinator at NTT DATA Europe & Latam, presented ESCO (European Skills, Competences, Qualifications and Occupations), a multilingual classification system that helps align education and training with labor market needs across Europe. Her presentation highlighted how tools like ESCO support the creation of a common language for skills across borders. The conversation then turned to regional implementation. Antonio Ibañez Pascual, Director General for Telecommunications and Digital Administration of the Castilla y León Regional Government, shared his region’s approach to building digital capacity, with particular attention to rural areas and vulnerable populations.A standout moment of the event was the presentation of the Veneto Region’s flagship project, “Innovation Labs and Facilitation Centres”, delivered by Manola Tegon. This initiative provides citizens across the region with free access to digital tools, training, and expert guidance. The project has established a network of spaces, both physical and digital, where people can improve their digital skills in a supportive and accessible environment.Allegati scaricabili Relatore: Maria Rosaria CodutiPolicy and Programme Officer, Interactive Technologies, Digital for Culture and Education Unit, DG CNECT, CE Scarica il PDF Advanced digital skills in the new policy initiative - Maria Rosaria Coduti - DG CNECT - CE Relatore: Clara Beltran SanzContent Coordinator of ESCO, NTT DATA Europe & Latam ESCO Scarica il PDF Clara Beltran Sanz - ESCO Relatore: Antonio Ibañez PascualDirector General for Telecommunications and Digital Administration of the Castilla y León Regional Government Scarica il PDF CyL Digital - Antonio Ibáñez Pascual - Junta de Castilla y Leon Relatore: Manola TegonInnovation Labs and Digital Facilitation Centres for widespread digital competence development, Veneto Region
